song of the day: fergie - big girls dont cry

lol kinda gay to listen to that.
but whatever.
SORRY FOLKS FOR NOT UPDATING.
no inspiration la haha.

one question: have you people ever donated blood before?

there's a blood donation drive at my school hall yesterday from 11-5pm.
jack, eugene and i went together to donate our blood! (how nice XD)
there were alot of people there la actually.
to donate, to mingle, to see us "suffer" blah, some went for the free snacks =_=
actually, it requires us to go for some basic check ups before we can donate.
and the worst fact is, many people failed the check up!
okay this is what we/i've done.

station 1: we went to a nurse to check whether our veins were visible. luckily for us, we cleared! quite a number of girls already failed at this station. lol.

station 2: we filled up declaration forms, stating that we didnt had medication for the past 3weeks, didnt have what illness, hiv, hep b, sex with prostitute blah blah.
some questions were really entertaining.

station 3: we had a survey with one of the nurse and she asked about the sex question again.
she apologised before she asks that lol (so well mannered!)
she also took our blood pressure which many failed due to either high or low.
mine's perfect for donation! :D
then, we're to sign our declaration forms there on the spot.

station 4: by this time, being the excited yet nervous me, my hands were already icy cold. LOL. the air conditioners were on by the way.
the nurse there uses a thing i duno what to puncture a hole on one of my index fingers. (the first poke)
she den uses a thin straw to suck up the blood from the finger and dripped it into a blue solution which i assume it to be copper 2 sulphate.
the blood just dropped to the bottom of the beaker in a spherical shape!
damn cute i tell you haha.
i think it's to test whether you have hep b or something.
she then continue to suck up more blood before putting a plaster on my finger.

station 5: this is the best part.
haha i guess many of you are waiting for this.
eugene, a first timer, went to have his blood donated first.
jack and i watched him as the procedures were being carried out.
jack has donated before and therefore, he's familiar with it.
but the noob me how? lol.
jack went next followed by me.
we all chose our seats so that we'll be close to one another.
the moment i sat down with the nurse beside me, the nma people were snapping pictures of me already.
the nurse asked whether i was going to be on papers. LOL.
she's really nice and straight forward.
i asked her whether it's going to be painful.
she replied "yi dian dian la" (abit la) haha!
she applied pressure to my arms before starting to clean the area with alcohol where she's going to inject.
the area then got injected with anesthetic. (my 2nd poke!)
after sometime, she took out a needle, large one about 4cm in length and 3mm WIDE and pierce it into my skin. (my 3rd and final poke)
just then i felt my face went red LOL.
but guess what? it doesnt even hurt!
the nurse then instructed me to press the soft ball thing to get my blood moving.
after bout 20 counts, the amount of blood i'd donated:

mine was actually quite slow already for whatever reason i've no idea.
i just heard the nurse murmured "why like dont have ah"
i tell you i was kinda worried cause i thought she's going to poke my other hand >.<
HAHA.
after sometime, my arm went bluish-black (its normal) and numb before i got this:

like finally man.
unlike some others who have to lie down or having ice packs, i was rather normal.
just that i felt i appeared to be in a daze for several moments.
haha. and finally, the deal was OVER! (in about 20minutes) XD
i was rather happy that i've done something good. lol.
so people, dont be afraid to donate blood.
for every packet of blood you donate, you save 3 lives!!
quoted from jack "for every life you save, you build 7 storey of pagoda, for three lives, you've already built 21!"
lol. according to Buddhism, you build pagodas when you do good deeds la so.. ^^
it was really fun.
the only time i find it painful was when the nurse remove the equipments, she took out the scotchtape which came out with some of my hand hair.
HAHA thats all really!
XD i'll blog again really soon.
so watch this space and, adios!

before

after

the drop of blood which stayed with me for the whole thing. lol.

oh yeah, some friends commented and asked why the color of my blood seemed to be black.
its not black, its dark red. healthy la!! ^^

-just when i needed you most
